I'm sure a lot of people are echoing this thought right about now but as long as they had the option, I kept this toggled OFF. I hate this, they rearranged everything, you have to go thru a whole separate menu just to fave things into specific folders instead of the convenient dropdown from before, you can't display your badges any more, everything is all.. scrambled. It took me until tonight to even figure out how to get back to my notifications if I clicked away from them cuz not once did it click to look on the complete opposite corner for them from where they used to be. I admittedly will MOSTLY only use DA for the stash to drop ref pics for chars for easy access now. I might try to keep posting my FR art on here if the submit isn't a chaotic mess, but otherwise I will probably be a lot quieter here now than I had already been just cuz I can hardly navigate the new layout... it's not intuitive at all, imo.
Anyhow, I'm not deleting or anything, been here over a decade now, I just am frustrated with how out of whack the whole site feels now to try to navigate and use.
No computer, no more art, please read. . . .UPDATED SEPT 21, 2016!!!!!
As of September 2nd, 2016 my 14 year old computer has died; it's motherboard burnt to a crisp.
Art will stop sadly until it can be replaced.
Read below for details. It's not too long I promise!
Thank you!
~~~The Death of a Computer: A.. Eulogy?!~~~
Last week my computer officially died as the motherboard finally gave up after 14 years of delightful service and enjoyment.
My computer fueled my passions, distracted me from my lifelong depression coupled with suicidal thoughts which I have suffered from for 15 years, allowed me to meet life changing wonderful individuals that I will never forget, kept me creative and compassionate.
For those who have read this journal before this update you would know that I had been trying to earn enough money to either repair or replace my computer.. however.. I was only able to raise $50 from 2 wonderful friends who commissioned me. To them I am undeniably grateful and will be
How long have you been on DeviantArt? - I joined a couple days after my birthday in 08, and have been on this website for 6 years now, actively contributing whenever I can
What does your username mean? - Originally, I was on here under the name Sasodei-Enthusiast, which was a way of showing my love for Sasori and Deidara from Naruto. I am now called Thylacyanide, which is what my rebranding was across the spectrum, and is a shout out to Thylacines, my kin animal, and the fact that a lot of my digital art focuses on glowy oozy drippy toxic looking things
Describe yourself in three words. - tired, quiet, creative
Are you left or right handed? - I'm actually ambidextrous, though I tend to favour my right hand while I am doing digital work
What was your first deviation? - I don't actually remember, I think I have since then removed it while cleaning up my gallery, but the oldest piece I still have on here is a portrait of Haku from Spirited Away.
What is your favourite type of art to create? - It has to be a tie for me between digital 2D and 3D and traditional 2D and 3D, but in general I think I could officially say I just love making visual art
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? - animation, all hands down. I hope some day to be able to do it.
What was your first favourite? -
This was before I even started sorting my faves into folders
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? - almost always digital creature art or pictures of fursuits that are being made, because those are the sorts of things I do too now, so I suppose I have a much higher appreciation for them now
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? - Ooph, that's not fair. I watch so many different artists, and some o them I have watched for years. I don't have a favourite. What I do like though, is just seeing over the years how much the people I follow have been improving and developing their styles.
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? - I think it'd have to be either or honestly. I adore their work and it would be an honour to get to meet them in person.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? - I've met a lot of frankly great people on here over the years... I've made some friends who have helped me through some of the darkest times in my entire life, and I'm grateful for that support. I've been inspired by many through here, and the positive feedback I have received has helped encourage me to keep drawing, keep creating.
What are your preferred tools to create art? - My own two hands ! No matter whether I am fursuiting or drawing or sculpting, my hands are my best tools.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? - inspirational, I'm not sure. I know where I most frequently create it though is sitting on my bed in my room, hahah
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? - I think the fact that back when I joined, my mom didn't really like the thought of my posting things online, so I waited until after my birthday and joined in secret, and this account was like my big secret for a long time that I kept hidden from her on my computer and would only ever check when I had privacy. It was thrilling, thinking I was submitting my things to such a massive community of people I didn't know,and getting feedback from them ! Even still, now that so many people know I have this account, I still find that thrill whenever I see a comment from someone new on anything I post : )
